The summer may be ending as August is soon upon us but we here at Premiere One PR refuse to give up the sunshine. So here’s our top five picks for the July contenders of our Song of Summer 2014.
Hilary Duff ‘Chasing The Sun’
After a very long break away, Ms Hilary Duff is back on our radios with her brand new single ‘Chasing The Sun.’ Thankfully, Duff doesn’t try to be someone she’s not but rather sticks to what she’s best at – pop/folk fun. It’s cute and carefree with a premise that we can all relate to and is the perfect track to keep us daydreaming of warmer days.
Jessie J feat Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj ‘Bang Bang’
Jessie J teased her latest single a while back and ever since we found out she was teaming up with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj we’ve been waiting very impatiently with pretty high expectations of what the track will sound like. Luckily, each girl brings their own terrific talent to the proceedings to make ‘Bang Bang’ a sure-fire smash.
Pharrell Williams feat Miley Cyrus ‘Come Get It Bae’
Pharrell was featured in our June contenders list thanks to his work on Ed Sheeran’s ‘Sing’ and now the super producer is back again, this time in his own right. ‘Come Get It Bae’ is one of the best tracks on Williams’ ‘G.I.R.L’ album so it’s great to see it getting released with the fun video it deserves to keep us dancing the nights away.
Charli XCX ‘Boom Clap’
Charli XCX has come to everyone’s attention thanks to her feature on Iggy Azalea’s ‘Fancy.’ She said that she sees herself as an underdog but with the release of ‘Boom Clap’ I’m pretty sure no one’s going to think of her as anything less than a star. Speaking of stars, the catchy song features on one of this summer’s biggest movies ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ so it’s only right it becomes one of this summer’s biggest hits.
The Script ‘Superheroes’
It’s been a while since we’ve heard some new music from The Script but our favourite Irish trio are back again with the brand new ‘Superheroes.’ Like almost all of their songs, there’s a bit of empowerment, mixed with some heartfelt lyrics to create an anthemic track for fans to chant at their concerts. It’s the kind of song that even on the darkest nights, will carry you on a crowd surfing wave right back into the memories of the summer.
Let us know who you think deserves the title of Song of Summer 2014.
