We were listening to:
Twenty years ago – Bon Jovi were rocking the power ballad with their hit ‘Always.’ The track was one of the groups most successful selling millions of copies worldwide and reaching the number one spot in Belgium, Ireland and Switzerland.
Ten years ago – Eric Prydz was at the top of the charts with his dance track that has the sound of early 2000s EDM to it. The video probably got this track more attention than anything else. A clip of an exercise class full of scantily clad women will do that.
We were watching:
Ten years ago – Matt Damon took on the role of Jason Bourne once again for ‘The Bourne Supremacy.’ The second part of the ‘Bourne’ series followed Jason as he continued to piece together his life. It received a great critical response and went on to inspire a third movie.
We were talking about:
A new sitcom about 3 guys and 3 girls living in New York City started 20 years ago. We were introduced to Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Chandler, Ross and Joey in their favourite coffee shop and instantly started up a fascination with these ‘Friends.’ From that first episode the show took off and the likes of it have never been seen before, even though many have tried. We followed ‘Friends’ for ten years going through every emotion and every big milestone. We laughed when Joey got his head stuck in a turkey and we cried when Rachel broke up with Ross. ‘Friends’ was one of those landmark TV shows that only happens once a generation and we’re glad we got to be there to see it.
