While all eyes were on Nicki and her quick costume changes, the awards ceremony saw One Direction as big winners on the night. No surprises there so. The five piece took home awards for Best Pop, Best Live, Best UK & Ireland Act and Biggest Fans with the Directioners beating off stiff competition from the Beliebers and Arianators (young fans these days!).

Katy Perry took home the award for Best Video for ‘Dark Horse’ with Juicy J while Beyoncé won the award for Best Song With A Message with her distinctive pop ballad ‘Pretty Hurts.’ Host Nicki Minaj was named Best Hip Hop and Ariana Grande who performed ‘Problem’ and ‘Break Free’ on the night received nods for Best Female and Best Song for her Iggy Azalea collaboration.

Of course, the night belonged to Ms. Minaj who squeezed in an impressive 10 costume changes throughout the ceremony. Nicki stunned in outfits from Peter Hidalgo, Roberto Cavalli, Saint Laurent and Alexander Wang. The self-professed Queen of Rap then showed the audience why she is so deserved of the title as she performed a medley of ‘Superbass,’Bed of Lies’ and twerked her way around the catchy ‘Anaconda.’

This year’s MTV EMA’s looked like a great party and is sure to be just as good when it hits Milan in 2015!
